Other information:

Constantinople (Greek: Κωνσταντινούπολις, translit. Kōnstantinoúpolis (pronunciation ); Latin: Cōnstantīnopolis; Turkish: Kostantiniyye) was the capital city of the Roman Empire (330–395), the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire (395–1204 and 1261–1453), the brief Crusader state known as the Latin Empire (1204–1261), and the Ottoman Empire (1453–1923). With the establishment of the Turkish Republic, in 1923 the capital of Turkey was moved to Ankara and the original Greco-Roman name Constantinople was officially changed to the Turkish name Istanbul name that was given from Kemal a ta Turk in 1930 A.C. with greek meaning "To the City" ("Εις την Πόλην") due to the shurtcut name used by Greeks, as the original residents of Constantinople (etymology:City of Constantine A'/greek language). The Ottomans changed the name from Constantinople to Instanbul in 1930 A.C. but the origin of word "Instanbul" comes from the greek language, a phrase where Otrams also used to refer to Constantinople, but in a more heavy accent as the language was the Greek ("Εις ταν Πόλιν"/greek language); the city is still referred to as Constantinople in Greek-speaking sources. The original city is located in what is now the European side and the core of modern Istanbul. Read more in wiki.
